Na universidade, com a orientação teórica de Koellreuter, Tom Zé incorporou à sua música conceitos modernistas. Uniu elementos de música erudita e de vanguarda ao folclore e às canções de trabalho de sua cidade, do povo de sua região. Em seus arranjos e orquestrações, acrescentou liquidificadores, rádios, máquinas de escrever, enceradeiras, gravadores, teclados e garrafas. Juntou-os a instrumentos convencionais, a par de um complexo sistema de som construído por ele próprio. Formação: Tom Zé - triângulo e instrumentos especiais. Daniel Maia - guitarra. Cristina Carneiro - teclados e instrumentos especiais. Jarbas Mariz - viola 12 cordas, bandolim e instrumentos especiais. Felipe Alves - baixo. Rogério Bastos - bateria.
